Founder of Axis Hairdressing, Gianni has been in the hairdressing in industry for 30 years and is still working 4.5 days a week with a phenomenal following of clients boasting a waiting time in excess of 4 weeks. Without doubt one of the best cutters in Australia, and Canberra's most flamboyant hairdresser. His focus is on nurturing his salon team for the future with many young talented staff in the Axis team. Don't be put off by the waiting time to see Gianni, as your visit to see him will be well worth the wait.

Adam Ciaccia
Hair Cutter \ Salon Manager

Adam started at Axis Hairdressing in 1998, and is embarking of his 10 year working alongside his mentor\uncle Gianni Ciaccia. Adam has been trained by Gianni, and has built a strong clientele over the past decade. Adam has also achieved several accolades from within the industry for his cutting and colouring skills being named as a National Finalist for several awards. Adam say’s,” I owe this to my mentor for his training and leadership. And I look forward to passing the knowledge on by training young hairdressers.” Adam's focus now is on his clients, as he believes a hairdresser is best gauged by the size of his or her clientele. That’s a true indication of how good they are.

Michelle Kalozi
Head Colourists \ Training Co-coordinator

In 2003 Michelle joined the Axis team as head colorist, this role also included to inspire and train the new and junior staff along with Adam. The talent of the younger colourists at axis is testament to her training and skills, as over the past 5 years Michelle has passed on her knowledge to create a group of talented young colourists.
Michelle comes with wealth of experience having worked for Goldwell Cosmetics as a Technical Educator, with 13 years of working in the industry.

Michelle Recently was awarded the International Hairdressing Societies (IHS) Eco Chi Colour Challenge ACT State Winner, and National Finalist, She also received awards for Best Photographic image, and best new talent. Michelle also is a certified Great Lengths Hair Extension technician, and is available for hair extension service by appointment.

Rachel Hartley
Senior Hairdresser

Rachel is from Parkes NSW and moved to Canberra to join the Axis team in 2005. Rachel has been in the industry for 8 years and enjoys all aspects of hairdressing from Ladies and Men’s Cutting and Colouring to hair up do’s and hair extensions. Rachel is also a certified Great Lengths Technician.

Lee Makin
Senior Hairdresser\ Men’s specialist Cutter

Lee specialises in men's colouring and styling and has a very strong men’s clientele including some of Canberra's most famous men, ranging from news presenters to politicians and local well known entrepuners and young men. Lee has been at Axis for over a decade now and has also taken on the role of liaising with government training organisations to ensure our apprentice hairdressers are managed and well trained.

Kylie Maloney
Senior Hairdresser

Kylie is a country girl from Wagga Wagga NSW who has worked in the Axis team for 4 years. Kylie has been trained at Axis and has developed her skills to become a great cutter and colourists. Kylie's Bubbly personality is infectious and has her clients chatting and smiling. Kylie loves to cut and colour ladies and gents hair.

Jade Watson
Junior Hairdresser

Jade is an integral part of our team of junior stylists at Axis. Jade is proof that the training at Axis is first class with her cutting and colouring skills year above and beyond most stylist of her experience. Jade has been at Axis for 3 years now and is developing into one of the stars of the future.

Emma Bowman
Junior Hairdresser

Emma is an exciting young stylist who is heading towards being a very innovative hair colourists. She has been trained by Michelle and is a great technician. Emma is a great young hairdresser who has a lot of great years ahead. Emma's is an easy going young hairdresser who makes all her clients feel at home at Axis.

Ashlee Darmody
Junior Hairdresser

Ashlee has come back to Axis after exploring working elsewhere for 12 months. Ashlee say's she has comeback to the best environment and training. This is testament to Gianni Ciaccia's commitment to training and providing an environment for hairdressers to grow and develop. Ashlee since coming back has expanded her skills and is cutting and colouring clients who are leaving satisfied.

Josie
Makeup \ Receptionist

Josie is our host and the smiling face you’ll see on arrival at Axis Hairdressing. Josie primarily answers the phone and handles anything to do with our reception area, but is also a great makeup artist who is available for makeup for all occasions from weddings and formals or just a Friday or Saturday night out. Makeup is by Appointment only

Axis Apprentices:

Jaden, Lilly and Nicholas are an undergoing a school based apprenticeship program which involves them studying at school, doing 1 day a week at C.I.T for there Hairdressing diploma and working in the salon part-time. You’ll see these guys performing some of the most amazing shampoo and massage techniques, and making your experience better by assisting all our staff to look after our clients.
